RAGI HALWA

As we all know ragi is a rich source of calcium, protein, iron and various minerals, this ragihalwa recipe can be given  to them in any time of the day.  I prefer giving this sugar rush at the start of the day, however it also serves as a mid snack in the evening. INGREDIENTS:
  1. Ragi Flour 1/2 cup
  2. Ghee 3 to 4 tbsp
  3. Hot Milk 1 cup
  4. Sugar/ Jaggery  1/4 cup
  5. Cardamom Powder 1/4 tsp
GARNISH:
  1. Almonds 6 to 7 pieces chopped
  2.  Pistachio 6 to 7 pieces chopped
DIRECTION:
  • Heat ghee in a Pan
  • Add the ragi flour and stir it continuously for 3-4 mins on a low
  • As the mixture bubbles, add sugar or jaggery in the above mixture
  • Stir the mixture till the sugar completely dissolves
  • Heat the milk separately and pour it in the above mixture slowly
  • Continue to stir, till the mixture starts thickening
  • When the mixture starts leaving the pan, add 1/4 cardamom powder
  • Switch off the flame and transfer the halwa in a bowl
  • Garnish it with almonds and pistachio and serve hot
